Lessons

I teach a multitude of instruments, styles, and theories of music. Instruments include: Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele, and Mandolin. Lessons are personalized to meet you or your child’s levels and interests I call it a 50/50 blend of fun and work. And with a little creativity the work part CAN be fun. Along with instruments, I also teach recording, mixing, and mastering. You can do a lot with an inexpensive home studio these days. You don’t need to book a pricey professional studio to get a professional sound.

I can’t say enough good things about Ian Walsh! My daughter has been a student of his for about 5 yrs.She new nothing about piano when she started. It didn’t take long before he had her playing at her first recital! We couldn’t believe how much she learned! He has taught her so much! She got along great with him,it’s very easy to.He is not only an awesome teacher who really takes the time to work with you. He’s just a great guy!I truly believe he is a big part of her success as a musician! She got into Berklee and UML! He helped her with much more then just piano! Her songwriting, recording, preparing for gigs, with her band!So if you are looking for someone to help you with your music, piano, look no further!

Ian taught piano to my 7-year-old daughter. He has an excellent way with kids. He did a great job balancing things that she considered fun with exercises and theory that she didn’t particularly like. My daughter had fun and made good progress learning to play piano.

Ian taught my 10yo daughter piano for more than a year. He’s friendly, patient, kind, and very skilled. My daughter enjoyed every lesson & learned so much. I can’t say enough about how satisfied we are. Thank you, Ian! The Giarrusso Family (Alyssa)

Ian is a talented and patient teacher! I like that while we worked on the traditional lessons (e.g. scales and chords), he incorporated elements of my personal interests by letting me work with music I liked. He customizes each lesson for his students instead of a “cookie-cutter” approach. In terms of scheduling, he was very flexible. As a working professional and father, I would have to reschedule lessons occasionally and Ian would be understanding and helpful. I highly recommend Ian as a piano teacher for people of all ages!

Ian has done an incredible job teaching my daughter piano. He has guided her along & encouraged her every step of the way. He has even given her the confidence in her abilities to compose and write her own songs.

Ian has always listened and attended to my personal struggles while trying to master music. His approach is personal, professional and intuitive. Ian’s grasp of all things musical, especially teaching it, is a rare and natural talent that makes me want to do better!
